Dr. Keller on the field of
Marriage and Marital Therapy:
I believe that the relationship between therapist and couple is the
key ingredient to successful sexual and relationship therapy.
I assist couples with communication and conflict negotiation skills.
My approach focuses on helping couples develop empathic understanding
of how childhood experiences affect sexual and emotional intimacy.
Structured relaxation techniques, and visual imagery are often
integrated into the treatment plan.
Cognitive behavioral as well as psychodynamic models are utilized in
the counseling process.
When appropriate, I allow couples to explore the spiritual dimensions
of emotional and sexual connection.
I collaborate closely with medical specialists to assure that
biological as well as psychological issues are addressed.
My approach always attempts to create a safe, confidential, emotional
climate within which couples are free to explore feelings, fantasies,
and thoughts within a trusting therapeutic relationship
